The Women Artists – Exhibition Opens Friday October 10

Opening 6pm this Friday at The Residency, Alice Springs is an exhibition titled “Women Artists of the Hermannsburg School of Art”. The watercolour paintings by Betty Wheeler, Gloria Pannka, Gwenda Namatjira, Ivy Pareroultja, Lenie Namatjira, Marie Abbott, Myra Ah Chee, Selma Coulthard and Therese Ryder will be on display until November 23rd with some of the Artists working in a ‘pop-up studio’ at The Residency from Monday to Wednesday each week until November 14th. The Residency is open weekdays from 10am to 3pm and on Todd Mall Market Sundays from 10am to 2pm.

The Residency is located on the corner of Parsons and Hartley Streets, Alice Springs.

The Men Artists of the Hermannsburg School of Art

Exhibition opens Friday October 10 at 6.30pm at Talapi Gallery, Todd Mall, Alice Spring.

NEW watercolour paintings inspired by recent bush trips to Haast Bluff and the East MacDonnell Ranges. Artists participating: Peter Tjutjatja Taylor, Rienhold Inkamala, Hilary Wirri, Kevin Namatjira, Hubert Pareroultja, Douglas Kwarlpe Abbott and Mervyn Rubuntja. The Exhibition runs from October 10 to October 31. Don’t miss out!

Alice Plaza Mural – unveiling Sep 5 at 12 noon

This unique mural was designed by well-known artist Peter Taylor, and painted in collaboration with another six landscape artists including Gloria Pannka, Mervyn Rubuntja, Lenie Namatjira, Kevin Namatjira, Gwenda Namatjira and Reinhold Inkamala, with support of Ngurratjuta/Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands art centre and the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. The mural is 7m long by 2m high and represents the range east of Heavitree Gap (Ntaripe) with the dry Todd River (Lhere Mparntwe) meandering through it.
