This unique mural was designed by well-known artist Peter Taylor, and painted in collaboration with another six landscape artists including Gloria Pannka, Mervyn Rubuntja, Lenie Namatjira, Kevin Namatjira, Gwenda Namatjira and Reinhold Inkamala, with support of Ngurratjuta/Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands art centre and the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. The mural is 7m long by 2m high and represents the range east of Heavitree Gap (Ntaripe) with the dry Todd River (Lhere Mparntwe) meandering through it.
We are proud to announce that the Alice Springs based Ngurratjuta Iltja Ntjarra, Many Hands Art Centre Collaborative was highly commended during the Telstra Art Awards, with their collage work: Knara Nunaka Tjurretja – Our big country: the West Mac Donnell Ranges.
