Alice Plaza Mural – unveiling Sep 5 at 12 noon

The Hermannsburg School of Art and Alice Plaza will celebrate the Mural unveiling on September 5 at noon. The watercolour artists from Ngurratjuta Many Hands will launch the mural together with Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles!

This unique mural was designed by well-known artist Peter Taylor, and painted in collaboration with another six landscape artists including Gloria Pannka, Mervyn Rubuntja, Lenie Namatjira, Kevin Namatjira, Gwenda Namatjira and Reinhold Inkamala, with support of Ngurratjuta/Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands art centre and the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. The mural is 7m long by 2m high and represents the range east of Heavitree Gap (Ntaripe) with the dry Todd River (Lhere Mparntwe) meandering through it.
