Biography

Wayne Armstrong recently started painting in 2018. His uncle Basel Rantji was amongst the original group of artists that started the renowned ‘Hermannsburg watercolour movement’.

Wayne started to try his hand at the challenging landscape watercolour painting made famous by Albert Namatjira and his successors, because he realised the importance of keeping this legacy alive, and for the younger generations to carry on this important tradition.

 

He participated in the Family Connection workshop in Ntaria at the Men Centre in August 2022.
