Black Cockatoos
This painting shows Tjoritja, the West Macdonnell Ranges, I painted it from my memory. You can see the waterholes filling up after rain and more rain coming! The Cockatoo’s husband is on the left, the wife is on the right. The husband is saying that there’s a big rain coming with thunder and lightning and that they need to look for a place to hide, a hollow in a gum tree. The boomerang in between them is made from mulga wood. Mulga trees are everywhere. The boomerang has mount Sonder painted on it.
