Biography

Rosabelle is Albert Namatjira’s granddaughter, sister to fellow artists Lenie and Gwenda Namatjira. She was born and raised in Ntaria (Hermannsburg). Rosabelle is the daughter of Oscar Namatjira (son of Albert), one of the leaders of the Hermannsburg School of watercolour painting. 

Rosabelle paints traditional acrylic dot paintings that depict Bush Tucker, Bush Bananas, Honey Ants and assorted Wild Fruits. She has recently begun to paint landscapes on canvas, depicting elements of her Western Arrernte country.

Rosabelle lives with her sisters Lenie and Gwenda in Alice Springs.
